Assembly Technician/Prep

POSITION SUMMARY

Work as part of a team having responsibility for preparing wires, cables, terminals and labels. It is expected that the technician will learn several skills across a variety of machines within  the prep area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Rotate through all the tasks required in a particular production process.
  • Keep work areas clean.
  • Adhere to and maintain workmanship standards set forth by Aved.
  • Participate  in continuous improvement  training, including  but  not limited to cross-training to all three divisions
  • Set up and run various crimping,  wire cutting, and stripping machines.

  • Understands various prints, drawings, and schematics  - Complete understanding of l/16th inch calibrated ruler.
  • Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Adaptability  - Ability to adapt to change in the workplace.
  • Detail Oriented  - Ability to pay attention to the minute details in a work instruction.
  • Reliability - The trait of being dependable and trustworthy.
  • Technical Aptitude - Ability to comprehend basic technical topics.
  • Time Management  - Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
  • Able to use all rulers, hand tools, etc. properly and safely - Must be familiar with all tools necessary to prepare wire and cable for final assembly, including manual and automatic machines.

Moderate computer skills to interface with automatic machines are necessary. All assembly technicians must be trained to IPC-620 standards.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Light assembly work with some automatic and semi-automatic machines in a climate controlled environment.

Assembly Technician - Battery and Cable

POSITION SUMMARY

Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product. Team assemblers can perform some or all tasks conducted by the team in the assembly process and rotate through all or most of them rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis. Technician is encouraged to provide input and feedback to engineer and/or cell lead to strive toward continuous improvement.

  • Assembly of cables, battery packs, or electro-mechanical assembly. Adhere to and maintain workmanship standards set forth by Aved. Participate in continuous improvement  training, including but  not limited to cross training to all three divisions.

Basic computer  skills  are neccessary.

All assembly technicians must be trained in house to a cirriculum based on IPC-620 standards, welding, general assembler knowledge, and basic Cirris testing Non-Conforming SOP 8.3
