Electric Vehicle market requirements are considered the greatest pressure on demand for the global production of Li-ion batteries. It is estimated that by 2020, more than 4 million light electric vehicles will be produced demanding battery support that simply does not exist with current output of the global leaders in cell technologies.
Aved recognizes the global sourcing concerns that will come from increased demand from this particular market segment. Bandwidth, technology, and model concentration continues to be a compelling business model for key cell suppliers such as Panasonic, LG Chem, Samsung, and BYD.

Aved has concentrated our efforts in continuing to identify and qualify cell manufacturers for the uninterrupted support of our portable instrumentation customers. Aved has invested in significant cell modeling equipment and has increased our relationships with additional cell suppliers to meet the ever increasing demands for our own market segments.

Medical device, industrial equipment, backup power, robotics, oceanographic, and portable power will be pressured into more common cell offerings but will continue to have unique demands put upon the power solutions.
Pricing pressures from global consumption of materials is a secondary effect of increased cell manufacturing output. Aved understands the dual responsibilities of identifying quality, available cells and securing a consistent, cost-effective supply chain for our customers.
